Anticipated 2019 Releases

I’m the sort of person who tends to read more old releases, partly because they’re easier to find at the library and partly because waiting for the next part of a series is annoying. I’ve also found that getting caught up in the hype of a new release before you have time to see some reviews can lead to disappointment. However there are some 2019 releases I’m going to be keeping an eye on and really hope get a positive response from the bookish community.

Books by Authors I Know and Love

  • King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo – I can’t wait to get back into this world and see some of my favorites again
  • Bloodwitch by Susan Dennard – I love this series and I can’t wait to see where it goes next
  • Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff – I loved the Illuminae files, and a space academy and team bonding is right up my alley so I’m sure I’ll love this one too
  • Adam Silvera’s new fantasy novel – I haven’t read any of his books but I follow him online and I’m just waiting to find one of his books in the library

Debut Novels

  • The Similars by Rebecca Hanover – this seems like a cool twist on the clone idea
  • The Dead Queens Club by Hannah Capin – I love the idea of this historical inspired contemporary
  • These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling – real world witches, yes please
  • The Good Luck Girls by Charlotte Nicole Davis – I have a bit of a soft spot for the wild west, and I feel like there are about a 1000 books coming out this year that sound like they’re going to have really strong female friendships which I’m hyped about
  • A Court of Miracles by Kester Grant – I first heard about this author and her upcoming novel through pitch wars in 2017, and I love her as a person so I can’t wait for this to be published

Books by Authors I Don’t Know

  • You Owe Me A Murder by Eileen Cook – the synopsis of this book gives me CHILLS it sounds so good
  • When the Sky Fell on Splendor by Emily Henry – this book sounds like it will have some great friendships in it and be exactly the right combination of real world and sci-fi that I enjoy
  • Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim – project runway meets mulan??? that sounds like the best thing ever
  • Death Prefers Blondes by Caleb Roehrig – I really love heist books, especially when there’s a duality in the main character
  • Rayne and Delila’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zantner – this book sounds like it will really relate to my experiences over the past year while being unique and friendship focused
  • Tell Me How You Really Feel by Aminah Mae Safi – I love the sound of these characters already, plus I neeeeeed more female romances in my life
  • We Are The Wildcats by Siobhan Vivian – a book that takes place in 24 hours and is about a female sport team?? yes please
  • The Grace Year by Kim Liggett – I always enjoy books about personal trials and periods of isolation so hopefully this one will be good
